first date

okay we're getting close! so i thought i'd share some of the inside scoop on Eric and me. just in case you were mildly interested or something...

so for the first date, i asked Eric to Bingham Ball 2005.

key note: i asked him

i had a little crush on him and didn't really think he knew too much of who i was. just that i would try to walk with him as he and his buddies walked around the school every morning.

[nerdy.]

i made him a bunch of suckers and put the letters of my name in each one and left him a note saying something like, "would you go to Bingham Ball with a sucker like me?"

i know. cheesy, right?

sometimes cheese works.

he responded with a failed attempt at toilet papering my house.

failed.

yes, he definitely won my parents over with that one.

you see, my dog saved me! she barked and caught them! and you can bet that pile of unused toilet paper didn't stay unused for long...

i got him back. all over his car. 

[his car, not his house. that's why his parents liked me]

so the day comes, we went to the Hogle Zoo. then we went to Wendy's where Eric asked for a what with cheese.

"a what?"

"yes, with cheese."

at least that's how it's supposed to go. instead it went down with a "we don't serve those here" and a snarl.

he was sorta embarrassed. i thought it was endearing. 

then we went to the dance! it was pretty great, of course. 

no, nothing happened. i wasn't sure he liked me.

 at the end is the dreaded door step scene. my friends drove us to his house where i could walk him up and hug him. 

of course my friends failed at the part where they stay and wait for me.

so i went inside. stood there awkwardly talking to him while the friends made up stories about me going inside.

they picked me up eventually. quick hug good bye.

and what do we have to remember this first date by?

the smooth arm around the shoulders with the half closed eyes beautifully achieved by yours truly.
