we've had a couple of little things happen lately.
like when our kitchen sink exploded on eric. you know how in the movies, the guy is trying to turn off the water and the handle comes off and sprays down the whole kitchen? who would've thought that can actually happen in real life! eric handled his unexpected shower great and totally had it in control. who knows what i would've done?
then i was making fish sticks, which aren't sticks but are more like wedges, and the oven got really hot really fast to the point where the stove was cooking anything on top of it, including my hand. don't worry, there wasn't any smoke or fire, but it did set off the alarm. based on experience, i can fan that alarm to silence in no time. and the fish wedges cooked twice as fast.
yesterday i decided to make some minestrone soup in the crockpot. i prepped it and plugged it in to have it cook for 4 hours only to end up with it just sitting there for 4 hours as the outlet wasn't quite working after the sink explosion. after a reset and starting the cooker on low last night at 11, we had some really good soup ready to eat at 6 this morning. plus, holding the soup on the train ride kept my hands nice and warm!
life is funny. and we are going to be best friends with our maintenance man.
Oh Kend. I miss you, and am sad I didn't get to see Eric's mishap... or you fanning the alarm. Then it would be like I was watching a really good movie about two people in love who overcome everything thrown at them... those are the best you know.
