You see, we have been really behind on the whole Christmas thing. As in, we just barely decided we needed a tree. And now.
We had thought about getting a fake tree but decided we'd get a real baby tree for now and buy a fake one after Christmas when they all go on sale. What can I say? We are clearly geniuses.
So we get to the tree lot and are looking at the baby trees and we find another couple, elderly, looking at the same trees. Our convo?
Us: "Don't you love these small trees?"
Them: "Yes, they are the best! We wanted to get a big artificial one but they are so expensive."
Us: "Seriously- that's what we were thinking! We will buy a nice artificial tree later-"
Them: "After Christmas when they are on sale!"
Guys. We make the cutest grandparents!!!
And our little tree is awesome. Even they thought so. As we left...
Them: "Hey! That's our tree!"
Us: "Yeah we beat you! But you can have it after Christmas."
Them: "I knew we should have grabbed it when we saw it!"
Sometimes being young and quick pays off. :)
