1. Pull into parking lot and search for a double cart left next to an empty parking spot for easy access. If not available, give up and go home. Who needs groceries anyway?
2. If you can find such a miraculous and rare circumstance, unload children from car seats, and get them in double cart only to find out the buckle straps are broken.
3. Carefully roll cart inside in hopes of finding another double cart but with good straps. While doing so, act as the buckle for your twins, hunching over them, surrounding them with your arms while pushing cumbersome cart with your belly. This way, babies won't be sliding around and injuring themselves. Avoid eye contact with fellow shoppers.
4. No luck. All the doubles are taken (try to hide bitter attitude as you see a mom with one child in a double). However, you've glanced a fellow shopper, actually a fellow twin parent shopper, making their way out to their car. Maybe you'll get some sympathy.
5. Stalk fellow shopper in as casual of a manner as possible while still acting as the buckle for your slippery babies. As soon as fellow shopper has unloaded groceries, pounce. Explain situation. Receive look of understanding, wonderful double cart with buckles that work, and a, "Are those twins? So are mine. Actually this is my second set. It does get easier."
6. Try to keep your jaw from dropping as you really just want to ask for their autograph and hang it on your fridge as a reminder of super parents and that shopping with "only" one set of twins can't be that difficult.
7. Reminder, you haven't actually started shopping yet. Next time, shop at Costco. Bless those double carts.
