baseball, names, weddings, grandpa

so.... a few random things for you today.

on wednesday, Eric and i went to the allstar game! isn't life great when work gives you free tickets? the game was so fun! and afterwards we saw the greatest fireworks ever! no joke. we were floored! or grassed.. or whatever.

on saturday we saw harry potter! pretty cool. eric's favorite line was the one line harry's dad says as he's about to die. and we loved that all ginny needs to look like a mom is mom hair. of course, hermione doesn't change. she's so good at magic, she prevents herself from aging. go neville! oh, and doesn't voldemort almost look like a friendly guy when he's laughing and so happy? fooled me.

then, we were going to go visit my grandpa in the hospital. he fell and broke his hip. he has had it replaced and is doing great! maybe more than great... keep reading and you'll see. anyway, on the drive, eric and i played one of our favorite games where you look at billboards, trucks, license plates, etc for kids names. everything is such fabulous inspiration like you wouldn't believe! oh, and eric taught me that the best way to try it out the child's name is by yelling it. i guess it is going to happen a lot and it needs to be shoutable.

now, side note: eric has told me time and time again that we will NEVER have a dog. ever.

back to center note: if you come up with a really good dog's name (in process of non-passable children names,) your husband will start talking to his invisible dog. in fact, he'll want to move just so you can have a dog. now he won't stop talking about our future dog! a pretty genius trick really.

anyway, apparently you can't visit at the hospital between 5 and 7. (what???) but eric has told me it wasn't a waste of a trip as we came up with our future dog's name.  we then went to eric's cousin elyse's wedding! it was beautiful. a great setting and a great new family! i think the mosquitos liked it too.

warning: don't shave your mosquito bite. it's not a comfy feeling.

two of my new brother in laws and me with a sideways tree:

curtis just loving his family:

this is him after being forced to really love us:

then we went to dinner and my mother in law started us on a chorus of katy perry's last friday night at the chinese restaurant.

so today, i visited my grandpa. he's doing great! when they move him around, he's not too happy. i think he's swearing but without his teeth in it sounds more like beatboxing. he was very informative as well. while my bro tried on some hospital gloves, my sister drew pictures on the whiteboard, and my dad pushed all the buttons he could, grandpa taught us how to spell chicken and said he hasn't had this much fun since the pig ate my dad's brother. needless to say, we love hospitals. get feeling better grandpa!

  3. Let me just say that I think you're writing is absolutely hilarious! I was laughing the whole time, and though it certainly helped that what you were writing about was funny in and of itself, the way you wrote about it just made it ten times funnier. :)

Also, my curiosity is piqued. What dog's name did you come up with that made Eric immediately want a dog? :)

  4. You can't know the name or then you will use it. It must be kept secret...

  5. Yes the mesquitos claimed their territory. So sorry. We should make a survey to see who had the most bites. Danielle (Tyrels wifey) had 49 on her legs. Seriously. It was REDICULOUS! So glad you all came. You looked awesome! Love your apartment too btw. XO, Aunt Sharon ps- I'll stole the pics!
