Normal includes Eric making a crash landing pad around the couch so the girls can dive off it and he can continue watching his show.
Normal includes going out to eat at Famous Dave's and Eric adding the different sauces to the girls' Puffs so that they can experience the good flavor.
Normal includes Adelyn figuring out how to turn on the TV, access Netflix, and turn on Ice Age or Mulan, her favorite shows. Sometimes she watches them in Spanish. Our children are so smart.
Normal includes going to Costco where you see all the other twin moms and everyone comments on how many of us there are that shop there (thank you double carts!) When you make babies in bulk, you buy in bulk.
Normal includes Oakley getting on and off her little car and constantly wanting to be pushed. Luckily, we've got two babies just for that purpose- to help push each other around. We planned it that way. But sometimes Eric and I sit on the floor and push the girls to each other in an endless rotation. They've only hit the wall once. Now they wear bike helmets.
Normal includes watching "Making a Murderer" on Netflix after the babies go to sleep and yelling at the TV. And then reading up a million articles afterwards and really just as confused as ever.
BUT, the not normal, very strange and weird stuff of our lives includes Eric and I going to Mexico for a few days... without the babies! What? How is that even possible? Some quick weaning and the best grandparents ever. That's how.
So we went to Puerto Vallarta for a little getaway with Eric's work. It was so much fun! We played in the ocean, went to an amazing show on a little island lit up with candles, watched surfers, bought souvenirs like typical tourists, and SLEPT IN. Here are some pictures, if you want to be reminded what the sun looks like.
We missed our babies so much! But we loved having our own little getaway and we loved that they had some bonding time with such awesome grandparents.
