never let me go/ secrets

my roommates gave me this book for my birthday and it was great! and weird.. and interesting...

i can't tell you much about it without giving it away but it basically tells about the life of 3 main characters. they are in school in the beginning and eventually grow up to move away and become what they are meant to be, which has already been determined.

the book is narrated by one of the characters and you know all of her thoughts (warning: some are not the greatest). she is very straight forward and blunt, kind of in a way that nothing is a big deal.

the whole thing is very unsettling. you know something is wrong, yet nothing is done about it. no one tries to stand up, no one tries to do anything. everyone just accepts things the way they are and moves on with it, like it's not a big deal.

this book was really interesting and had a great writing style. the author does great at giving the book a disquieting feeling throughout the whole thing. it definitely left me unsettled and is a thought provoker for sure.

for a happy and fun book, this one is great. (and it's even better because it was given by the amazing spectacular Eric)

it is about a girl who has major flying fears and while on a plane tells all of her secrets to a stranger thinking it is her last chance to talk to anyone.

well it turns out she meets him later... as her boss. the circumstances that follow are hilarious and this book was definitely a happy one. warning: there are a lot of f words and some iffy scenes. Sophie Kinsella has a great funny writing style in this witty chick lit.
