Can you cheat death?

No but you can negotiate.

in one of my classes we talked about this so i thought i'd show everyone.

you have a blood relative who has lived 95+ years, + 10 years.

you regularly play puzzles like sudoku or scrabble, + 5 years. (hallelujah!)

you're a married man, + 5 years.

you take 81mg of aspirin a day, +5 years

you eat five servings of fruits/ veggies daily, +3 years (uh does juice count?)

you floss daily, +2 years (what if you have fake teeth? not that i do... uh..)

you regularly eat nuts, +2 years

you regularly go to church, +1.7 years

you're a married woman, +0. (how is it that when you are married, you'll only live longer as a guy? see how much we do for you men!)

and if you were suddenly feeling good about your life...

you drink more than five cups of coffee a day, -.5 years

you get less than 6-8 hours of sleep a night, -1 year

you have a family history of diabetes, -1 year

you don't wear sunscreen, and you're outdoors a lot, -2.5 years (oh gosh...)

you are slowly putting on weight, -5 years

you frequently feel stressed out, -5 years (i blame school.)

you eat red meat more than twice a week, -5 years

you have less than 12 years of education, -5 years

you engage in unprotected sex with multiple partners, -7 years (let's hope this isn't your problem...)

you smoke, -15 years (yep)

you use IV drugs, -15 years (oh man don't you just love the Word of Wisdom?)

  1. I bet some of those are untrue . . . like what if someone were allergic to aspirin? I wouldn't REALLY help them live longer to take it everyday . . . just sayin'.

  2. So according to my calculations I should live to be 212. Wait a second...that can't be right. ;)

  4. dear heidi, maybe you should not be allergic to aspirin. there! problem solved!

dear robby, the only way you could live to 212 is if you become a major polygamist. :)

dear ashley, i'm so glad we do sudoku in management instead of listening! so much more worth it!
